The article "A Review of Myeloablative vs Reduced Intensity/Non-Myeloablative Regimens in Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantations" detailed about how Bone marrow transplants are used very often for blood diseases ,hematological diseases. This articles discusses the effects of using a more modern method Allogeneic hematopoietic non-Myeloablative stem cell transplantation (Allo-HSCT) on patients with these hematological diseases. Previously Myeloablative (MA), Reduced Intensity Conditioning (RIC) and Non-MA (NMA) regimens were the approaches taken prior to non-myeloablative method however those three aproaches brought significant side effects such as irreveralbe cytopenia. This trial was done at different intensities for set groups of patients and then recorded for up to five years post procedure. The results were promising as they "...opened a new era for treating elderly patients...". The number of patients this method is being used on is 40% and continues to grow. This shows that this research is heading in the correct direction and is full of potential. Potential such as being able to target solid tumors such as ovarian and colon tumors.

Some potential quotes I could use in my research are "Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (Allo-HSCT) is a curative treatment option for both malignant and some benign hematological diseases...The RIC conditioning was used for 40% of all Allo-HSCT and this trend continue to increase." to demonstrate the growin use of this method. I could also use "NMA/RIC for AlloHSCT has opened a new era for treating elderly patients and those with comorbidities" or "Therefore, generally today RIC regimens might be a good choice for patients with AML who have significant comorbidities or older age (50)." to show the benefits this new method has brought that the conventional method could not bring. As well as us the quote "It is very reasonable to state that targeted therapies may improve the immune effect of allogeneic transplantation in a positive way in patient with solid tumors" to show the effects this method has had on treating tumors. This quote is a short statment that supports my research "In conclusion, allogeneic stem cell transplantation is a curative approach in many diseases.

This source is reliable as it was found within the trusted GALILEO database. This article has also been scholarly reviewed by other well educated professionals and was published very recently to be exact 2017. The content is therefore up to date. The article was written by authors Erden Atilla, Pınar Ataca Atilla, Taner Demirer from Ankara University School of Medicine. Therefore they are trained professionals and have also listed their numerous sources within their article. Lastly, they support their findings by displaying their evidence.

This article fits into my research as it demonstrates the uses and effectiveness of non-myeloablative stem cell transplantation. I could use this articles results along with the results of an article over the conventional bone marrow transplant method to compare the two methods. This source was helpful to me as it showed me one of the many ways their newer and effective method is being used. It also talked a lot about how this method has brought improvement to the lives of older patients which supports one of the reasons this newer method was needed.
