Assignment 16: Written Proposal

I need to understand difference between conventional bone marrow transplantation and non-myeloablative stem cell transplantation. I want to know the disadvantages of conventional methods that were satisfied with the introduction of a more modern technique, non-myeloablative stem cell transplantation. I also want to know how this more modern technique has opened new doors in the medical world for further advancement .

My essential question to begin with and still is why should we justify the use of non-myeloablative stem cell transplantation over the conventional bone marrow transplantation? I believe this questions will do a great job in helping me compare and contrast the effects of both methods and the possible advancements to come in the medical world because of non-myeloblative stem cell transplantation.

Along with my website, I plan to use a brochure and video demonstrations as supplements to showcase my project. I believe the brochure will help to not only summarize my research, but also help to break it down into sections. The video demonstrations will help me provide greater elaboration for harder to comprehend concepts in my research. As well as give visual evidence of my findings.

For my real inquiry, I have conducted an interview with oncology nurse Mrs.Laurel. My questions where over conventional bone marrow transplantation and non-myeloablative. I spoke to her about the methods themselves, their effects on the patient, and their differences. This real inquiry will also help me broaden my research by introducing me to new topics I need to further develop and explore.
