Assignment 11: Mentorship Write-up

Hello! I am Valery. I am fascinated with the health field. I enjoy being challenged and constantly learning. This is why I feel healthcare would be a field I would not only strive in, but truly enjoy. The medical field is always evolving. It is an area of continuous growth. It is also a field that takes a whole village to run. I enjoy the interaction between all the departments all working as a team. I am part of the education program at Northside Forsyth Hospital. There I take part in a three rotation tour of the hospital. Currently, I am in the Radiology department. In Radiology, I am allowed o shadow in CT, PET, X-ray, nuclear medicine, and ultrasound. I learn from the techs, physician assistants, and radiologist. I observe procedures and exams. Some procedures I have seen are cryoablation and thoracentesis. My aspirations for next year are to attend Emory University. I feel with the rich experience from my internship at Children's and Northside I will have guidance in which major and specialization to choose. As well as assurance that medicine is where I will be happy.
