To be successful in your internship, you have to be conscious of your image, of your attitude, and of your actions.
If you are questioning whether an outfit is appropriate for your internship than it probably is not; Therefore you should not wear it. People will judge who you are as a a person based off your attire as when you first meet someone their looks is all you know about them. Prior to your first day you should speak to your boss and ask them about dress code in the office along with how your schedule will be like. You could also talk to your boss to clarify job expectations. Also remember to arrive early and not to leave early from your internship. Show that you are eager to learn not eager to leave.
Along with showing eager to learn comes showing enthusiasm, be easy to work with actually make people want to and be excited to work with you. Be known for being up beat, flexible, and willing to learn. "Attitude determines your altitude". Be sure to take initiative of your own education by asking questions and trying to be part of the team. Be willing to do the little task as this will open doors for you to later be able to do more of the important task. Always do your best work whether it is the small task or the important task as both work is a representation of you.
Make the most of this opportunity by networking. This will extend your professional contacts for the future that could bring you employment opportunities. Building relationships in the professional world can also help you later with letters of recommendation or introduce you to amazing teachers that can help you learn more about your field.
At the end of your internship, be sure to leave on a positive note. This can be done by meeting your supervisor a week before you leave and thanking them for allowing you to learn with them. You should also make sure to complete all task you have been working on. You should return company property and leave your contact information. Be sure to keep in mind just because it is your last few days do not skip or slack off.
